News and AnnouncementsMinutes from the SouthEast Regional MAsT meetingMaster Ice Dog opened the meeting with introductions. We had more than 26 attendees (give or take with some people popping in and out during the meeting). Attendees included: Ms. Zara, Sir Luke and slave, Master Peacock and his boi, Ms.Susan, LaLa, Master Scott and slave Lyon, MAsT Director of Operations Liza, and Director of Education Koneko, a couple of representatives from the great lakes chapters, slave raven, LadyD, representatives from the Florida Gainesville and Birmingham MAsT Chapters as well.
During introductions, Master Peacock expressed interests in starting his own Chapter and some concerns that he had not received any communication from the local Chapters in his state. Master IceDog said that he would follow up touch base and follow up on his request.
We then began our discussion with an announcement on technology and the availability of conference call options for Chapters. Most seemed very excited about the potential this will offer to connect with traveling or long distance Chapter members as well as other Chapters. Ms. Susan advised that they are working to provide conference call numbers so that this option is available in the near future.
Ms.Susan then provided additional announcements from MAsT International. Including new MAsT T- shirts which will be available for purchase on MAsT.net. She also discussed the Pantheon of Leather awards. She encouraged everyone to submit their nominations for MAsT to be nominated as best Leather club at MAsT.net. Please see the website for more details on nominations.
She also announced that she received the NLA Lifetime Achievement Award which we all joined in our celebration for. Master IceDog reminded everyone to submit their Chapter meeting reports on time. He also reminded everyone about the upcoming Southeast Conference call on June 26th. I encouraged everyone to use the MAsT website for meeting ideas and options to connect with other Chapters.
We closed the meeting with an open discussion on intersectionality within our communities and upcoming events each Chapter is working on. The last 5 minutes of the meeting was spent socializing with each other.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need any additional information.
Thank you!
